Weight Management: Your guide to how I can work with you

  • I can offer a very wide level of service dependent upon what you are looking for. It can range from some basic guidelines about nutrition through to a full analysis. This type of advice is very well suited to on line, telephone or skype advice if you don't have time for a 1:1 meeting, so it is very flexible.

  • If you are looking for a more in depth review then the starting point is to ask you to complete a 7 day food diary. I'll give you the diary with a guide about how to fill it in. This will give me a really good guide about your nutrition over a typical week; what gives you energy, how you feel in the hours after eating, whether you are getting most of your sources of energy from carbohydrate, fat or protein etc.

  • In addition we can use technology to help us. Myfitnesspal is a great App that helps you to record the number and type of calories you are consuming.

  • I will analyse all the information and work out your total daily energy expenditure requirement. From this I can advise about your calorific intake and, as importantly, the quality of those calories. I will give clear advice and explanation about any changes that I believe you should make in order to achieve your goals. Click here and have a look at my Top 10 Tips which gives you a flavour. As you can see, nutrition can be a minefield but I will help and guide you through it.

  • If you want specialist advice on the best nutrition for physical performance to cope with the demands of rigorous exercise, I can advise on specific nutrition to meet those demands so that you can exercise at your best and recover more quickly.

  • For clients who have asked me to prepare a personal training exercise schedule, I will dovetail nutritional advice with that exercise so you can see how the two fit together to produce best results.

  • I have developed a home visit service for clients who want a root and branch review of their nutrition and this can include assistance shopping to help work through and understand some of the bewildering food labelling that supermarkets often place on their products.

  • I can also design and recommend detailed meal plans for those clients who want guidance about how to change their meals but still enjoy them and get the most out of them nutritionally.
